Downtown Dash 2011

On March 13th, 2011 the Family Medicine Residency participated in the Downtown Dash in an effort to increase Stoke Awareness and save lives.



"Glendale Adventist became certified as the first Primary Stroke Center in the San Fernando Valley in 2007. Thanks to community involvement, the Downtown Dash has raised over a hundred thousand dollars to help educate the community on stroke awareness and enhance treatment options for stroke patients. Take a moment to familiarize yourself with the signs and symptoms of a Stroke:
· Sudden numbness/weakness in face, arm, leg (especially on one side of the body)
· Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding speech
· Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes
· Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination
· Sudden severe headache with no known cause
